This Privacy Policy describes how Adeleye Ifa Academy ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data with respect and transparency.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following information when you create an account or use the App:
- Name — to personalize your experience within the App.
- Email address — to create and manage your account, and to communicate with you.
- Lesson progress — which lessons, modules, and courses you have completed or started, to enable you to resume your studies.
- Audio listening time — the duration you spend listening to audio lessons, used to track your engagement and study hours.
- Optional personal notes — any notes or reflections you choose to write within the App. These are entirely optional and stored only for your own reference.
2. How We Use Your Information
The information we collect is used solely to provide and improve the App experience:
- To create and maintain your user account.
- To save and restore your lesson progress across devices and sessions.
- To display your personal study statistics and progress reports.
- To send you important account-related communications (e.g., password resets).
- To improve the quality and content of the App based on aggregate, anonymized usage patterns.
We do not use your data for advertising, marketing profiling, or any purpose beyond providing the services described above.
3. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Firebase (Google Firebase), a cloud platform that provides industry-standard security including encryption at rest and in transit. Firebase complies with major international data protection standards including SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR frameworks.
Access to your personal data is strictly limited. Only authorized personnel directly involved in operating the App may access user data, and only as necessary to provide support or maintain the service.
4. Third-Party Sharing
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with any third parties for commercial purposes. Your spiritual study data, personal notes, and account information remain confidential.
The only exception is Firebase (our backend infrastructure provider), which processes your data solely to store and serve it back to you. Firebase's own privacy practices are governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
5. Your Rights and Data Deletion
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — request that inaccurate data be corrected.
- Deletion — request that your account and all associated data be permanently deleted.
- Portability — request your data in a portable format where technically feasible.
To exercise any of these rights, please send an email to adeleye.ifa@gmail.com with the subject line "Data Request" or "Data Deletion Request", along with the email address associated with your account. We will respond and fulfill your request within 30 days.
When you request deletion, we will permanently remove your name, email, lesson progress, listening history, and any notes you have stored. This action is irreversible.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at adeleye.ifa@gmail.com and we will promptly delete it.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
